Yakima, Zillah organizations included in Pacific Power grants focused on community and environment

PORTLAND, Ore.-Pacific Power announced a new round of grants focused on community enhancement and the environment on Nov. 18, including some in the Yakima Valley.

“These organizations lift up our communities and protect our natural surroundings for future generations,” said Ryan Flynn, director of the Pacific Power Foundation and president of Pacific Power.

The grants from the Pacific Power Foundation total $175,000 and were awarded to programs and projects in Washington, Oregon and Idaho concerning affordable housing access, job training and rural economic development to ecosystem preservation, trail restoration and nature-based education, according to the utility.
