OTHELLO, Wash.-A Yakima woman died in a two-car crash after crossing the center line of the roadway in Grant County on October 29.
The Washington State Patrol responded to the crash in the westbound lane of State Route 24 at milepost 57 around 3:40 p.m.
According to the WSP, a 2000 Honda Civic driven by Grace Vickers, 19, of Yakima, was traveling westbound when she left the roadway to the right, overcorrected and turned left into the eastbound lane of traffic.
While trying to re-enter the westbound lane, Vickers hit a 2022 Honda Accord driven by a 21-year-old Tieton man before coming to a rest in a ditch.
After being hit, the Accord rolled and stopped upside down. Responders transported the driver to a hospital in Othello.
Vickers was pronounced dead at the scene. The WSP has notified her next of kin.
