YAKIMA, Wash.-September is National Library Card Sign-up Month and Yakima Valley Libraries is celebrating with a drawing contest.
YVL’s drawing contest will be divided into three age groups: 5-12, 13-18, and 19+ the winners will receive prizes and have their artwork displayed in the library, according to YVL.
Entry forms can be picked up at any YVL branch and must be submitted by Sept. 30. Library patrons may also sign up for a library card at any branch.
National Library Card Sign-Up Month celebrates the importance of library cards in promoting lifelong learning and access to educational and informative resources.
“We’re excited to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month by encouraging our community to explore the wealth of resources available at our libraries,” said Sully Gama, Marketing Manager.
With a library card patrons have access to books, e-books, audiobooks, online resources and educational programs, according to the library.
