YAKIMA, Wash.-A community conversation on the fentanyl crisis is set for Yakima on Wednesday, March. 13 at the Seasons Performance Hall, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The educational forum, part of the Yakima Valley Community Foundation’s Community Conversation series, hopes to build empathy, and understanding within the community and will feature Megan Tweedy, a local community activist who works to prevent fentanyl overdose deaths.
“When we have treatment that works, why is the fentanyl problem getting worse?” will feature a panel of experts from various fields, including law enforcement, judicial, medical and community activism, according a Yakima Valley Community Foundation press release.
Tweedy will moderate a panel discussion with the professionals with the hopes of enlightening the public on the fentanyl crisis and the combined efforts required to turn the tide.
