YAKIMA, Wash.-Yakima Valley College will host additional financial aid workshops this spring to help students with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA).
The free community workshops will be held at various dates and times, both virtually and in-person on the Yakima and Grandview campuses, YVC staff will be available to help answer questions in both English and Spanish, according to a press release on the workshops.
“We know that the new application process is going to prompt questions, even for those who have applied for financial aid in the past,” said Oscar Verduzco, YVC director of financial aid.
YVC Financial Aid workshops:
Yakima Campus: Feb. 21, March 6, April 17 and May 22 from 2-6 p.m. in the Deccio Higher Education Center, Building #8, Room 210.Grandview Campus: Feb. 13, March 5, April 16 and May 21 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. on the Grandview Main Campus Building #56, Room 123.Virtual Sessions: Feb. 29 from 2-6 p.m.
“It’s crucial for families to understand the changes that are happening so they can maximize the financial aid they’re eligible to receive. There’s a significant amount of financial aid available to make a college education affordable.”
