YAKIMA, Wash.–The Yakima Valley College STEM program will host a glass recycling drive later this month in partnership with Yakima Recycles Glass.

The glass drive gives community members the opportunity to drop off glass containers in a sustainable way, according to a YVC press release.

A $5 minimum donation is required for donations up to 20 pounds, and other recycling costs are based on weight, according to the release. Glass can be dropped off from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. on January 18 at the YVC campus, in parking lot H off of 12th Ave, near Parker Faller Baseball Feild.

Glass food and beverage containers, as well as glass cosmetic containers, are accepted, but automotive glass, Pyrex dishware or tempered glass or not, according to the release.

Community members who drop off glass should rinse bottles out and remove metal caps, according to the release. Volunteers will inspect donated glass before recycling.
