Yakima Valley College hosts series of Running Start information sessions

Starting tonight, Yakima Valley College’s (YVC) Running Start Program will host a series of information sessions across the Yakima region.

Current high school sophomores and juniors and their parents are invited to the meetings to learn how the program can enable them to earn up to two years of college credit tuition-free.

Eligible students can earn both high school and college credits by enrolling in college classes at YVC’s Yakima and Grandview campuses.

“I wanted to attend the Running Start program because it would help me get my degree in a shorter amount of time,” said student Jasmeen Chauhan.

Running Start students can:

Get a head start on college by earning up to two years of college creditAttend classes full- or part-timeSelect and sample diverse classesTransition to college lifeSave thousands of dollars earning their college degree and enter their career more quickly

Priority applications to participate in Running Start are due April 4, final deadline is August 7.
