YAKIMA, Wash.-Spring is the time for learning at Yakima Valley College as the school has seen an 11 percent increase in enrollment from a year ago.
Total enrollment for spring quarter is currently at 4,104 students across all YVC campuses, Yakima, Grandview, the Ellensburg and Toppenish Learning Centers and online students, according to the college.
“YVC is committed to helping our students become lifelong learners with the skills and knowledge that will allow them to be successful,” said YVC President Linda Kaminski.
YVC is seeing an increase in enrollment across most of its programs, including College and Career Readiness programs, such as Adult Basic Education, high school completion and English language acquisition, which are up 14 percent from spring quarter 2023.
According to YVC, over 800 students are now enrolled in its Running Start program, an enrollment increase of 21 percent from 2023.
The deadline to apply for summer quarter 2024 at YVC is May 24, with registration for summer classes open May 7 – June 24.
YVC will host Express Admit Days on May 30 and August 1 on the Yakima Campus and June 26 and July 31 on the Grandview Campus to provide prospective students with one-on-one assistance completing the application process, starting an application for financial aid and placement testing information.
