Yakima police ask for the public’s help in identifying deadly shooting suspect

YAKIMA, Wash. – The Yakima Police Department is investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a 30-year-old man on Friday.

YPD Public Information Officer Yvette Inzunza says at around 3:55 p.m., the man was walking north on North 18th Avenue at the crossing of Willow Street when he was shot and killed.

Inzunza says there is no indication on if the shooting was gang related. The intersection will be closed for a couple hours for the investigation.

YPD has asked the community to check residential and business security cameras in the area for anything that appears suspicious.
