YAKIMA, Wash.-The Yakima Police Department has issued a statement on the ongoing manhunt for Elias Huizar, a former Yakima Police Officer suspected of two murders and the abduction of a one-year-old child in West Richland.
Huizar was a YPD Officer who left the department after being disciplined in late 2021, according to the YPD.
Yakima PD is assisting West Richland PD in any way they can during the investigation and Chief Murray released the following statement on the situation on April 23:
“The tragedies we are learning about in West Richland are heartbreaking. Words cannot express the deep sympathy we feel for all affected by these terrible acts of violence.”
