YAKIMA, Wash.-A Yakima man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the production and possession of child pornography.
Bryce Quinton Hale, 28, pleaded guilty to the two charges on Aug. 23. He must serve an additional 10 years of federal supervision after he is released from prison and pay $3,000 in restitution, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington’s Office.
“Child pornography is particularly troubling for the victims as the images continue to exist on the internet even after the perpetrator is stopped,” said Richard A. Collodi, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Seattle field office after Hale’s sentencing. “Despite being confronted by law enforcement with his horrendous actions, Mr. Hale continued to engage in unlawful activity.”
Hale reportedly produced child porn images and shared them on the “Kik” app through his phone in 2021, according to court documents.
Hale was charged for those crimes and placed on pre-trial release on Dec. 1, 2021, however, he violated the conditions of his release by accessing the internet and using another phone with videos and images of child porn on it.
The case against Hale was brought as part of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood, which brings together federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
