Yakima County Sheriff’s Office looking for driver suspected of deadly hit-and-run in Toppenish

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash.-One woman is dead and the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the suspected driver after an apparent hit-and-run in Toppenish on Saturday, Sept. 21.

YCSO Deputies responded to the report of a possible dead woman on the 1700 block of North Meyers Road near Toppenish around 9 p.m.

According to the YCSO, the body of a woman was found at the scene and it is believed that she was hit while walking north on North Meyers Road by a car that was also going north.

The woman is thought to be in her 30’s based on evidence found at the scene, but has yet to be identified, according to the YCSO.

The driver who hit the woman left the scene and has also not been identified or located.

The YCSO continues to investigate the deadly hit-and-run and is asking for the community’s help in locating the car that was involved.
