YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. – The Elections Division of the Yakima County Auditor’s Office is looking for committee members to argue “for” or “against” local ballot measures appearing on the Nov. 5 General Election ballot.
Committee members will share written arguments for or against a ballot measure that will be in the Local Voters’ Guide.
Measures that need committee members are:
City of Toppenish Proposition No. 1: Formation of a metropolitan park district (For and Against)Yakima County Proposition No. 1: Formation of a lower valley hospital district (For and Against)Union Gap School District No. 2 Proposition No. 1: Construction bonds (Against only)
Committee members are required to be registered to vote in Yakima County and must provide an email address. Each committee is limited to three members who will be picked at random if more than three residents volunteer.
Anyone interested must contact the Elections Division by email at iVote@co.yakima.wa.us no later than 4 p.m. on Tue., Aug. 13.
