YAKIMA, Wash.-The Yakima Airport is set to host its inaugural Aviation Day on Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The free, family-friendly day of high-flying fun at Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field, will include various aircraft on display, both military and general, as well as helicopters, drones and food, according to the City of Yakima.

“There will be aircraft of all kinds, food and fun!” said Airport Director Rob Hodgman.

Parking for Aviation Day will be available in YKM’s main terminal at 2406 West Washington Avenue or at Perry Tech.

Numerous booths highlighting the aviation industry will also be on display at the airport for the event.

“We hope this event will raise awareness among young people and adults about career opportunities in aviation,” said Hodgman.

While several aircraft will be on display, Aviation Day will not include an airshow, according to the City of Yakima
