TRI-CITIES, Wash.-Fall is here and with the change in weather comes the potential for adverse driving conditions that drivers should be aware of, such as wet, slick roads.

Morning rainfall is making for a wet commute and Washington State Patrol Troopers have responded to multiple crashes throughout the area according to a social media post.

The WSP is reminding drivers to slow down and increase stopping distance on wet roads.

Wet weather driving safety tips from AAA:

Routine maintenance: The changing of the seasons is a good reminder to replace worn wiper blades, check that headlights are working and make sure tires are properly inflated.Slow down: Reduced speeds on wet roads is the best way to prevent hydroplaning and keep all four wheels on the roadway. Drivers should also increase their following distance and stopping time and, if possible, drive in the path left by the car in front of them.Respond to skids: If your car does go into a skid keep looking and turning in the direction you want the car to go and don’t slam on the brakes.
