WSP looking for two persons of interest after hit-and-run that injured five in Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash.-The Washington State Patrol is now asking for the public’s help in finding two persons of interest possibly involved in a hit-and-run crash in Kennewick that hospitalized five people on July 29.

According to the WSP, witnesses at the scene identified Malcolm Slack and Mark Cummings as the two people who ran from the involved truck after the crash.

A 1998 Dodge Ram in the northbound lane of SR 397 tried to turn left onto Columbia Drive and failed to yield the right-of-way and hit a Toyota Corolla going southbound on SR 397.

The driver of the Corolla, an 18-year-old Kennewick woman and all four of her passengers, including a 38-year-old woman and three children aged seven, six and three, were transported to Trios Hospital after the crash.

According to the WSP, one of the people in the Corolla suffered serious injuries.
