Wreaths Across America honors veterans’ graves

PASCO, Wash.–City View Cemetery will bring volunteers together on Saturday to place wreaths on veterans’ graves.

Wreaths Across America marks a day of remembrance to honor America’s heroes by laying wreaths on each veterans’ grave while speaking their name aloud in a tribute to their memory, according to the City of Pasco website.

Over 950 veterans have been ‘laid to rest’ at City View, serving anywhere from the Spanish-American War to the Korean War, WWI, WWII and the Civil War, according to the website. Wreaths Across America is just one way City View Cemetery honors the veterans who served in the past.

People can help honor veterans by sponsoring a wreath to reach the goal to lay one on each veterans’ grave, or by volunteering on Saturday at the event, which starts at 11 a.m., according to the website.
