Woman murdered in Wapato identified, suspect still on the run

WAPATO, Wash. – The identity of the woman shot and killed in Wapato on the morning of Sept. 6 is now known.

Heather Renee England, 37, of Yakima died in the shooting, according to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office. An autopsy was performed on the morning of Sept. 9.

England’s boyfriend is suspected of her murder and is still on the run.

UPDATE SEPT. 6 12:00 p.m.

Yakima County Sheriff’s Office confirms they have not located the suspect. Police say they will continue to review Crime Stoppers tips in hopes they will lead to Gianni Alaimo’s whereabouts.

UPDATE 4:41 p.m.

In an update from the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, Gianni Philip Alaimo’s car has been found in Wapato, though he has still yet to be found.

A man suspected of murdering a woman in Wapato is now on the run.

Yakima County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of shots being fired on the 100 block of Mellis Road in the early morning hours of Sept. 6.

A woman was found at the scene with gunshot wounds, according to the YCSO. Deputies attempted lifesaving measures, however, she later died from her injuries.

YCSO says the suspect, 45-year-old Gianni Philip Alaimo from Yakima, was last seen driving a white 2018 Cadillac XTS.
