YAKIMA, Wash. – A woman was arrested on Wed., Oct. 9 for allegedly trying to fraudulently access someone else’s bank account and eluding police.
At 1:57 p.m., Yakima Police were called to the 100 block of West Yakima Avenue for reports of the woman trying to steal from someone else’s bank account, according to YPD Public Information Officer Yvette Inzunza.
The woman reportedly tried to leave when police arrived. As she tried to escape, she allegedly hit a YPD patrol car causing minor damage.
The chase went north into Selah then eastbound on I-82, causing the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol to intervene. It ended at 2:35 p.m. at milepost 46 on I-82.
No one was injured in the chase, per YPD. The woman was booked on charges of eluding, hit and run, identification theft, forgery and attempted theft.
