PASCO, Wash. – A woman was arrested on Mon., May 6 in Pasco for having illegal drugs in her vehicle, per the Pasco Police Department.
PPD says officers were tipped off to a woman asleep in the driver seat of a vehicle on West Court Street near the U-Haul Storage. The report noted that there was a toddler in the backseat.
Officers woke the woman up, noting that she appeared to be high on a drug. Officers also found drug paraphernalia in the driver door.
When asked for ID, PPD says she looked through her purse multiple times, inside of which were drugs.
The toddler was taken out of the vehicle and kept safe by medics from the Pasco Fire Department. The woman was questioned by officers who later took her into custody.
A search warrant was obtained and officers found packages with hundreds of fentanyl pills, methamphetamine and cocaine. Scales, packaging and other items that indicated that the drugs were being sold were also found.
Along with the drugs in the woman’s purse that she was digging through to find her ID, a loaded pistol was found. She was booked into the Franklin County Jail on controlled substance distribution charges.
PPD says the child is safe and was taken out of a “potentially dangerous situation.”
