YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. – A garage holding oak barrels and hundreds of cases of wine at a small winery caught fire in Yakima County on Wednesday, according to a press release from Yakima County Fire District 5.
YCFD5 says the fire started at around 9:45 a.m. in the garage on Clark Road. The fire also threatened the winery’s tasting room and a shipping container which held more cases of wine.
YCFD5 says the fire was contained to the garage and was under control as of 11:30 a.m. The investigation of the fire is ongoing and was turned over to the Yakima County Fire Marshal’s office.
YCFD5 estimates the total loss in the fire was $430,000. The garage and its contents were completely lost.
