RICHLAND, Wash. – A wildfire burned half an acre near the REACH Museum in Richland on Wednesday, according to Richland Fire Department Battalion Chief James Hempstead.
Hempstead said the fire started at around 5 p.m. and was put out by crews by 6:30 p.m. No buildings or businesses were affected by the fire, though the end of Fowler Street was blocked by fire crews.
Crews are expected to stay at the fire until around 8:30 or 9 p.m. The cause is unknown and crews are searching for any obvious signs of a cause, according to Hempstead.
No one was injured in the fire.
