Wildfire burning west of Yakima on Hillman Road causes level 3 (GO NOW) evacuations

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. – A wildfire is burning in the area of Hillman Road and Marble Road, according to Yakima Valley Emergency Management.

Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuations are in place in the area according to YVEM, which includes:

Rocky Top Road to Summitview RoadSummitview Road to Summitview Road ExtensionSummitview Road Extension to Mahre RoadArea between Rocky Top Road and Mahre Road

According to Pacific Power, 2,027 residents are without power in the Yakima area with 1,352 in the area of the fire. The cause for the outages near the fire is an emergency de-energization.

YVEM asks people to avoid the area so firefighters can mitigate. A NonStop Local reporter is on their way to the fire.
