Wildfire burning 200 acres in Yakima County, level 3 (GO NOW) evacuations in place

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. – UPDATED 4:44 p.m. A wildfire is burning several cars and about 200 acres of land in Yakima County east of Yakima near the Yakima Training Center.

According to East Valley Fire Department Deputy Chief Ray Lamoureux, the fire is burning near Bohoskey Drive.

A level 3 (GO NOW) evacuation order has been put in place northeast of the Terrace Heights area near 1869 Bohoskey Drive, per Yakima Valley Emergency Management:

Intersection at Bohoskey Drive and Ewe DriveNorth to the intersection of Eagle Way and Bohoskey DriveEast on Bohoskey Drive to Solar PlaceSouth on Solar Place to Ewe Drive/Country Crest Road

Level 2 (BE SET) evacuations are also in place:

Eastside of the intersection of Solar Place and Bohoskey Drive going east to the intersection of Bohoskey Drive and Summerset RoadSouth on Summerset Road to St. Hilaire RoadSt. Hilaire Road northwest to Ewe Drive

Residents under a level 3 evacuation order should leave their area immediately due to danger nearby. Level 2 means to prepare to leave as danger is close.

Lamoureux says crews are starting to get a handle on it. Two helicopters and three dozers are currently in use.
