WALLA WALLA COUNTY, Wash.-Fire crews from multiple agencies responded to a wheat field fire on Ridpath Road on the afternoon of July 17.
Winds up to 40 miles per hour made fighting the four alarm fire difficult and it spread to about 800 acres, according to Walla Walla County Fire District 8.
The fire was burning in steep hills and threatening structures, making it tough to fight, according to WWCFD8.
Walla Walla County Fire Districts 2, 4 and 6 assisted district 8, as did Walla Walla North County Fire, the City of Walla Walla Fire Department and the College Place Fire Department.
