SPOKANE, Wash.-A former Wenatchee man has been found guilty of pandemic relief fraud.
Jason Carnell O’Daffer, pleaded guilty fraudulently obtaining more than $117,000 in COVID relief funding. He will be formally sentenced in May.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington and in information disclosed during court proceedings, O’Daffer admitted to fraudulently obtaining $117,400 in Economic Injury Disaster Loan funding for his purported home appraisal business.
O’Daffer applied for EIDL funds even though he was not licensed as an appraiser and he used the funding for personal reasons, including the purchase of an RV.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the COVID-19 Task Force.
