TRI-CITIES, Wash.-The Washington State Patrol has released numbers for DUI’s and crashes over Water Follies weekend.
According to WSP Trooper Chris Thorson there were eight DUI’s in District 3, which extends from Yakima to Walla Walla and includes the Tri-Cities.
That is the same number as last year, according to the WSP, and less than the 14 reported in 2022.
WSP Troopers also responded to 14 crashes over the weekend, compared to 20 a year ago and 22 in 2022.
The WSP conducted emphasis patrols throughout the area over boat race weekend focused on speeding, DUI, aggressive and distracted driving and seat belt enforcement.
