Washington, Oregon residents among those who have sentences commuted by President Biden

WASHINGTON, D.C.-President Biden commuted the sentences of 1,500 people and pardoned 39 who were convicted on nonviolent crimes on Dec. 12.

The commutations were granted to people who were released from prison during COVID to serve home confinement and served at least a year of that confinement after their release.

Multiple people from the Pacific Northwest had their sentences commuted, according to a list released by the White House.

Rosetta Jean Davis-Colville, WA: 60-year-old woman who pleaded guilty to non-violent drug offenses. After completing her sentence, Davis has worked as a peer supporter for those struggling with substance abuse.Terence Anthony Jackson-Seattle, WA: 36-year-old man who pleaded guilty to a non-violent drug offense he committed when he was 23 years old. Russell Thomas Portner-Toutle, WA: 74-year-old man who pleaded guilty to a non-violent drug offense.Gary Michael Robinson-Redmond, OR: 70-year-old man who pleaded guilty to a non-violent drug offense.
