WAPATO, Wash. – According to a post from the Wapato Police Department, on February 24, police were dispatched to International Market in the 500 block of West 1st Street in reference to “suspicious circumstances”.
Officers were notified by store employees that a credit card skimmer was discovered attached to one of their credit card readers in the middle checkstand.
According to the post, store employees believe the skimmer was attached to the card reader in the last few days.
Wapato PD is investigating the incident and officers are checking other businesses to locate any other potential skimmers.
Wapato PD recommends that anyone who has used a credit card at International Market within the last few days should monitor their accounts for suspicious activity.
