WAPATO, Wash. – Wapato’s community members are invited to a public forum on the Wapato School District’s school construction bond proposal that will appear on the Feb. 13 election ballot.
The $33 million bond proposal is planned to be used by WSD to replace three aging schools in the district, including combining Satus Elementary School and Camas Elementary School into one larger school building.
The two elementary schools are over 70 years old each, according to WSD.
PACE High School is also looking to receive renovations, which includes a gym and space for career readiness programs. The school’s current building is nearing 100 years of age.
The forum seeks to help the community understand the bond proposal and will share design plans for new schools. Attendees will get a first-hand look at plans for a new Satus Elementary School building.
The forum will take place at Satus Elementary School on Wed., Feb. 7 at 6 p.m.
