YAKIMA, Wash. – Adults interested in trying hockey are invited to attend Adult Learn to Skate sessions at the Yakima Ice Rink.
The program is meant for players that are putting on skates for the first time and players wanting to get back on the ice after not playing for a while.
The program lasts six weeks and is designed to prepare players for novice league play by teaching skills like skating, stopping, crossovers, shooting, passing and everything else that is needed for novice-level play.
Attendees will need a minimum set of gear including a helmet, shin guards and hockey gloves with extra gear available at the rink, but is first come, first served. Additional gear is recommended and a full set of gear is required for novice league play.
Sessions are every Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Yakima Ice Rink. Questions can be sent to yakimahockey@gmail.com.
