Walla Walla residents encouraged to ACT to save a life in October

WALLA WALLA, Wash.-Free ACT training is available for residents on Oct. 10 and Nov. 7.

ACT teaches three vital skills that can be used to save a life before firefighters or paramedics arrive, according to the City of Walla Walla.

ACT stands for antidote, CPR and tourniquet.

The free training available in Walla Walla will follow industry standards, however, it is not a certification class, according to a press release on the training.

Through the training residents will learn how to administer antidote for a suspected opioid overdose, how to perform CPR for cardiac arrest and how to apply a tourniquet to control bleeding.

Those interested in attending the training can register online. Trainings are limited to 15 participants.
