WALLA WALLA, Wash.-Parents at Menlo Park confronted a man with a knife until police arrived on the evening of May 1.
As parents and kids arrived for sports practice, the suspect was standing near the playground and was reportedly making families uncomfortable.
According to Walla Walla Police, a parent confronted the 45-year-old man around 5:25 p.m. and told him he needed to leave the area.
After a verbal then a physical altercation, the suspect reportedly pulled out a knife and made threatening gestures with it, according to Sergeant Loudermilk with the WWPD.
Three adults detained the suspect until WWPD officers arrived and took him into custody on suspicion of assault and malicious mischief after one of the victim’s glasses were broken.
The suspect also had an outstanding warrant out of Walla Walla County District Court, according to the WWPD.
