WALLA WALLA COUNTY, Wash. – A man was found dead on the side of a road near the Washington and Oregon border in Walla Walla County on Monday, according to the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office.
WWSO deputies were sent to Mill Creek Road at 6:52 a.m. for a welfare check. The caller reported that a man was lying on the shoulder of the road and did not respond to them.
Deputies found the man dead and detectives were called to investigate. According to the WWCSO, the dead man has been identified as Michael Angel Gonzalez, 27, of Walla Walla.
WWSO says the case is being investigated in partnership with the Walla Walla Regional Drug and Gang Task Force as a homicide. No more information is available at this time.
