WALLA WALLA, Wash.-Fire crews responded to a fire at an abandoned grain elevator on the night of March 13.
Walla Walla Fire Department crews were dispatched to the area of 12th and Rees Avenues for reports of a grain elevator on fire around 7:34 p.m. Walla Walla County Fire District 4 and the College Place Fire Department also provided mutual aid.
The grain elevator was abandoned and not in use, according to the City of Walla Walla. When fire crews arrived at the scene Walla Walla Police reported that multiple tires outside of the grain elevator were on fire.
No injuries were reported in the tire fire and crews had it under control by 8:15 p.m.
The fire is believed to have been started accidentally, according to Walla Walla’s press release.
