OLYMPIA, Wash.-As votes from the Nov. 5 General Election continue to be counted three races in Washington’s 14th Legislative District have tightened.
According to the latest numbers from the Washington Secretary of State’s Office, the race for State Senator in District 14 between Curtis King and Maria Beltran is separated by 1,240 votes, with Sen. King leading 51 percent to 47 percent.
In the race for State Representative Position 1 Gloria Mendoza is currently leading Chelsea Dimas 53 percent to 45 percent, a difference of 2,649 votes.
Just 573 votes now separate Deb Manjarrez and Ana Ruiz Kennedy in the race for State Representative Position 2, with Manjarrez currently leading with 50 percent of the vote compared to Kennedy’s 48.9 percent.
In Washington State a mandatory recount is triggered if the difference between two candidates is less than one half of one percent and also less than 2,000 votes, according to the Secretary of State’s Office.
Votes continue to be counted in Washington and results will be certified on Dec. 5.
