OLYMPIA, Wash.-Chinook salmon retention on the upper Columbia River will be closed as of Friday, Aug. 16.
According to the Department of Fish and Wildlife, the fishery is being closed because the non-treaty harvest share for summer Chinook has been met in the Columbia River above Priest Rapids Dam.

Priest Rapids Dam to Rock Island Dam: From Aug. 16-31. Minimum size 12 inches. Daily limit four sockeye. Release all salmon other than sockeye.Rocky Reach Dam to Wells Dam: Aug. 16 to Oct. 15.
