UNION GAP, Wash. — The Union Gap Police Department is looking for a stolen decommissioned patrol SUV.

According to UGPD, the silver 2017 Ford Explorer was stolen between the night of July 13 and the early hours of July 14 from the 2600 block of Main Street in Union Gap after being bought by a local business at an auction. The SUV is no longer a UGPD patrol car and has no police markings other than fully functioning emergency equipment and push bars.

“Our intent is not to create alarm or haste, but would like the public to be vigilant,” UGPD said in a press release. “If you are being pulled over or contacted by law enforcement, we ask that you pull over in a public and visible area.”

Anyone that feels any concern while being pulled over can also contact 911 to confirm the validity of the stop.

UGPD said they do not have a suspect and anyone with information about the theft should contact the department at 509-248-0430.
