UMATILLA COUNTY, Ore.-Two Pendleton men were killed in a commercial vehicle versus pedestrian crash on I-84 on Dec. 8.
Oregon State Police responded to the crash near milepost 210 in Umatilla County around 10 a.m.
According to the OSP, a Volvo commercial vehicle and trailer, driven by a 59-year-old Vancouver, Washington man, left the slow lane and hit a guardrail and the two pedestrians before crashing and rolling down an embankment.
The 24 and 25-year-old pedestrians died at the scene, while the commercial vehicle driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the crash that affected traffic for about five hours is now under investigation by the OSP.
