Two men suspected in deadly 2022 shooting in Kennewick arrested in Spokane

BENTON COUNTY, Wash.-Two men have been arrested in Spokane in connection to an Oct. 2022 shooting in Kennewick that left one woman dead.

Jatzivy Sarabia was shot and killed on Oct. 15, 2022 near 1st Avenue and Benton Street in east Kennewick when people in the two cars in front of the one she was riding in fired at the car she was in.

A 20-year-old suspect was arrested shortly after the shooting and charged with first degree murder, a 13-year-old was also detained in connection to the shooting and both are still behind bars awaiting trial, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives recently developed probable cause to arrest two additional suspects in Sarabia’s murder and arrest warrants were issued on Sept. 6.

An 18-year-old suspect was arrested in Spokane on Sept. 7 and another 18-year-old suspect was arrested on Sept. 10 with the help of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and Spokane Police.

The two suspects were transported to Benton County from Spokane.

According to the BCSO, four suspects have now been arrested on suspicion of murder in the case and five others were arrested on suspicion of charges related to the investigation.
