Two men killed in Benton County ATV crash identified

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. – The names of the two people who died after an ATV crash in the Finley area on Nov. 10. have been released.

According to the Benton County Coroner’s Office, Jason Moreland, 49, of Finley died of blunt force trauma, as did 42-year-old Zachariah Haynes of Kennewick.

No autopsies are currently planned on the two men, according to the Coroner.

The crash happened when two people on ATVs collided, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

Benton County Fire District #1 also responded to the crash near S. Dague Road and S. Perkins Road.

Both drivers died at the scene from their injuries, according to a BCSO social media post.

Dague Road was closed between Perkins and Bowles from about 9:30 p.m. until 3:30 a.m. as the scene was cleared and an investigation into the crash began.

The ATVs were being driven on the roadway at the time of the crash and the investigation is ongoing, according to BCSO.
