WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Walla Walla Public Schools is proposing two measures on the Feb. 13 ballot focused on programs not funded by the state and athletic facility improvement.
The Replacement Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) Learning Levy funds extracurriculars like athletics and music along with other programs like health services, facility maintenance and classroom technology that are not funded by the state.
The school district notes that the levy would not be a new tax as rates remain the same as approved in 2020.
The Outdoor Athletic and Activity Capital Levy is also on the ballot which sets out to improve outdoor athletic and activity facilities at Garrison Middle School, Pioneer Middle School and Walla Walla High School.
This levy is short-term and set at six years with an approximate cost of $3 per $100,000, or $9 a month for a $300,000 home.
More information on each levy can be found on the Walla Walla Public Schools website.
