RICHLAND, Wash. – The Richland Police Department investigated two DUI cases late Saturday night with one still under investigation.
In the first case, two officers watched a car drive through an intersection on Stevens Drive near Williams Blvd. and nearly hit them.
The driver was arrested for driving under the influence while the passenger reportedly dropped a pistol from his waistband as he got out of the car. The passenger was also arrested as he was found to be a convicted felon.
RPD officers were later called to a crash on Saint Street and Stevens Drive where a car had reportedly crashed into a power line with no driver in sight.
Power in the area was temporarily knocked out but Benton PUD reports that power has since been returned.
Investigations for this crash are ongoing and RPD requests that anyone with information on the crash should call dispatch at (509) 628-0333 and refer to case 23-042873.
