The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2, dubbed The Book of Carol, will officially premiere this September on AMC. With the new season just a few weeks away, the network is already building excitement for the already green-lit third season with the addition of five new cast members.

When does The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 come out?
AMC announced that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol will premiere on Sunday, September 29 at 9/8c on AMC and streaming on AMC+. The announcement came ahead of the season’s world premiere at the 2024 Tribeca Festival on Saturday, June 8 in New York City. There, the audience was treated to the 51-minute season premiere episode.

Season 2 picks up where The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 1 left off, following fan-favorite characters Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride). Daryl and Carol both confront old demons while she fights to find her friend and he struggles with his decision to stay in France, causing tension at the Nest. Additionally, Genet’s (Anne Charrier) movement builds momentum, setting Pouvoir on a violent collision course with the Union of Hope in the fight for France’s future.
Last season ended with Daryl fighting walkers on the beaches of Normandy where he was meant to catch a boat back to America, but he’s still in France in Season 2. Carol, meanwhile, was seen back in the States searching for her friend. Will she be his reason to return home, or will Isabelle and Laurent make him want to stay in France?
Who is in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 cast?
Reedus and McBride are both series regulars in Season 2, naturally, and both are all on the production side as executive producers (McBride also got an EP credit on Season 1). In addition to Reedus and McBride and Charrier, the series stars Clémence Poésy (Isabelle), Louis Puech Scigliuzzi (Laurent), Laïka Blanc Francard (Sylvie), Romain Levi (Stephane), and Eriq Ebouaney (Fallou).
The series is executive produced by showrunner David Zabel, Scott M. Gimple, Reedus, McBride, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath, Daniel Percival, Jason Richman, and Steve Squillante.

Yes, Season 3 was confirmed during SDCC 2024 panel. It will be filmed and take place in Spain, and McBride is confirmed to be returning alongside Reedus.
Here’s the Season 3 logline: “Season 3 tracks Carol (McBride) and Daryl (Reedus) as they continue their journey towards home and the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.”
Let’s hope this means the friends do reunite in Season 2!
New cast members for Season 3 were announced on Tuesday, September 3. Those new actors include Eduardo Noriega, Alexandra Masangkay, Candela Saitta, Hugo Arbués, and Óscar Jaenada. Character details will be revealed at a later time.
