PASCO, Wash.-A global IT outage is affecting banks, businesses, media and airlines across the country, including the Tri-Cities.
The FAA grounded planes across the country on Friday, July 19 and airports and airlines have now canceled or delayed flights.
The Tri-Cities Airport posted a statement on the outage, which read:
“TRAVEL ALERT: a major technology outage has affected air travel today (Friday, July 19). Please check with your airline directly for information about your flight status.”
Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland was also impacted by the outage and released the following statement on the morning of July 19:
“Providence and its family of organizations, including Kadlec, like other organizations around the world, is impacted by the CrowdStrike outage. Our IT teams worked through the night to respond to the issue and have restored key functionality in the Epic electronic health record so that nurses, physicians, and other caregivers can access patient records and perform clinical documentation.
However, other clinical applications and workstations continue to be impacted, and our IT teams are working to restore these services as soon as possible. Patient safety and access to care is always the top priority at Kadlec.”
