KENNEWICK, Wash. – An empty trailer on South Cascade Street caught fire in Kennewick Tuesday afternoon, according to Kennewick Fire Department Deputy Chief Michael Heffner.
Heffner says crews initially responded to a vehicle fire at 3:10 p.m., however found that the home was on fire instead.
Due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area, a mobile water shuttle from Franklin County Fire District 3 was brought in to assist.
The fire is now under control, according to Heffner. West 12th Place is currently blocked by emergency vehicles and water hoses.
There is no estimated time of when the area will be cleared of crews. No cause has been determined and an investigator from KFD is waiting for the home to be accessible before investigating.
The property owner reported that someone was burning weeds which caused the trailer to catch fire.
No one was injured in the fire, according to Heffner.
