RICHLAND, Wash. – UPDATE 4:56 p.m.

In an update from the City of Richland Public Works Department, the traffic signal has been repaired and is functioning properly.

Claire Venema with the Richland Police Department says the crash happened on Aug. 28 at 6:55 p.m., where a pickup truck reportedly failed to stop at a red light and hit the front of a Ben Franklin Transit bus. The bus swerved into the retaining wall and lawn of a home along with knocking over the traffic light.

Venema says the bus’s driver was the only one inside and received minor injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck allegedly drove off and was detained Friday morning with no injuries. They were reportedly driving with a suspended license.
