Toppenish man dead after crashing motorcycle into two semi trucks near Prosser

PROSSER, Wash.-A Toppenish man is dead after crashing his motorcycle into two semi trucks on I-82 on the night of June 10.

Washington State Patrol Troopers responded to the crash near milepost 86 about four miles east of Prosser around 8:17 a.m.

The motorcycle and both semi trucks were eastbound when the motorcyclist tried to pass both trucks.

According to the WSP, the motorcyclist hit both trucks and was then thrown from their bike. They were transported to the hospital in Prosser where they later died from their injuries.

The motorcyclist has been identified as 20-year-old Wyatt Collins of Toppenish. His next-of-kin has been notified of his death.

The drivers of the two semi trucks, a 48-year-old British Columbia man and a 31-year-old White Swan man, were uninjured in the crash.

According to the WSP, the cause of the crash was unsafe passing.
