Tim Harkins named new Deputy Fire Chief in Pasco

PASCO, Wash.-Tim Harkins has been named the new Deputy Fire Chief for the Pasco Fire Department.

“His extensive experience and passion for public service will undoubtedly strengthen our department and further enhance the quality of emergency response in Pasco,” said Pasco Fire Chief Kevin Crowley.

Harkins went through Portland Community College’s Fire Science Program in 1996 and has served with the Kennewick Fire Department since 2000, including as Battalion Chief since 2020, according to a City of Pasco press release announcing his appointment.

“I was drawn to the Pasco Fire Department by their reputation for mission-focused, all-hazard emergency response and prevention,” Harkins said. “I look forward to working with the Pasco team to continue providing excellent service to the residents and visitors of Pasco.”

Harkins is also a part-time instructor in the Fire Science program at Columbia Basin College and has been married to his wife, Robynn for 26 years, the couple have six children and three grandchildren, according to today’s press release.

Harkins began his role as Deputy Fire Chief on Sept. 3.
