KENNEWICK, Wash.-Three people were found dead in a home on the 2800 block of Dawes St. in Kennewick following an hours-long SWAT standoff on October 17.
According to Commander Aaron Clem with Kennewick Police, a missing persons investigation led police to the home. Suspicious circumstances learned as part of the investigation on October 16 led to police obtaining a search warrant for the home.
SWAT responded to the home around 8:15 a.m. on October 17 to try and clear the home so KPD Detectives could enter.
When the SWAT situation ended Detectives entered the home and verified that the adult male son of the two missing persons was dead inside according to Commander Clem.
The house was searched and the two missing adults, a male and female, were also found dead inside.
According to Commander Clem, a homicide investigation is underway and will be conducted by the WSP Crime Lab.
Southridge High School was placed under a non-critical lockdown during the situation, but the lockdown has been lifted according to school officials.
Neighbors were asked to evacuate or shelter in place during the SWAT standoff and roads were closed, however, according to the KPD all roads are reopened and the shelter in place order has been lifted.

Kennewick Police and SWAT are currently responding to a situation at a home on Dawes St. in south Kennewick.
Kennewick Police, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and medical personnel with the Kennewick Fire Department are on the scene.

South Dawes is currently closed and KPD is asking neighbors to evacuate or shelter in place.
